I was asked a couple of months back to test the BETA version of E-Rose (european) by a marketer from gamesrouter limited. Rose is an MMORPG which is quite new to the internet and Is probably one of the best around at the moment. Think Ragnarok style
Overview:
Rose = Rush on seven Episode
(that is because there are 7 worlds to travel through)
On Rose one creates a character to their own specific style e.g hair color, face etc. When done you are transported into the world of E-Rose where there are lots of monsters just randomly wondering around waiting to get bashed in. Gameplay is good in the way it is very addictive by fighting more monsters and levelling up. Throughout the game there are lots of ways to customize your character with different skills/attributes and armory whilst quests keep you occupied throughout the game.
Graphics:
The Graphics on rose are excellent! especially for an online game. obviously you need to download the client but it is very good.
Sound:
Sound is a slight let down. It goes on a bit. Otherwise ok.
Gameplay:
Gameplay is great. There are so many customizable options to create wide variety between characters in Rose. The whole outfit is customizable. As you earn money and defeat monsters you get better items..(duh) Here is what you can customize:
Headgear
Mask
Main Clothing
Shoes
Gloves
Sword
Shield
Necklace
Ring
Earing
All of which containt different stats and attributes! So character developement is huge in this game. Also when you level up, you get stat points in which you can beef up things like strength, dexterity, accuracy etc. Levelling up is somewhat slow however and can get frustrating at times when you die you lose exp.
Fighting:
Fighting on Rose is not like dynasty warriors in terms of you need quick key combinations. On Rose it is simple. Click on the monster and your character attacks. But that is a bit boring you say? You might think so at first. Every attack is timed so although it is not a turn by turn sort of final fantasy type method, you can increase the spead of your attacks by distributing stat points to dexterity! This also leads me on to another feature of Rose - The skills. In Rose you get particular Skills. These cam be executed whilst in a fight to do a special move or combo, or also to beef up stats as well or slow the opponent down.
Job Classes:
On Rose there are 4 Main Jobs (e.g types of character). Soldier - who can guess what this one does? Soldiers are the most powerful in hand to hand combat and have good fighting skills.
Hawkers - Kind of like soldiers, but there attacks are less powerful but more frequent. So they are faster than soldiers and have pretty lethal skills
Muse - aka mages/wizards etc. Muse are good because they can heal themselves (something I wish I could do as a soldier) and have powerful magical attacks.
Dealers - Dealers are item crafters! They can create really good weapons and stuff with cool attributes for other characters!
Addictivity:
As most RPGs are, this game is very addictive. The rewards from levelling up are great. You can increase your characters stats and attributes! Learn new skills! New weapons are available to you as well as armours and other customizables. New quests are also unlocked. Levelling up is quite hard and
takes a while in Rose but at the end of the day it is worth it. The other draw back is when you get KOed you lose a bit of exp, so you have to claim it back again.
Other Features:
There are just some other features I thought I should mention. Shops - In every different town there are many different shops (NPCs) where you can stock up on items and buy different equipment. Vending - You can sell things to other people by creating your own shop. Party - Creating Parties are good where different players join together and take on harder monsters. Carts - At level 50 you can buy carts to travel to different places! (e.g go-kart sort of things)
Summary:
In general this is a very good addictive game with lots of developement capabilities. Graphics and Gameplay are good and it has a great online growing
community. It is certainly worth a download!
