Ah, I came into this game already a big fan of Mario. Face it, what gamer didn?t grow up playing Super Mario games? Not a one! Well, this is perhaps the best Mario game I have played, and I have played them all. But, I have yet to figure out why these games are so addicting to one. But playing the Mario games will always fulfill your cravings, whether it is the old 2D ones or the newer 3D ones. You will always have fun with Mario (Yes, didn?t come out right, but grow up!).
The first initial thing I noticed when I started playing was that everything was smooth! (Later on in the game you?ll notice some parts that are still a little Octagonal but hey, nothings perfect) The game starts you off with the intro video (Peach?s voice annoys me?.) and after that, its disguises a clean up sequence so you get to know the controls. While you never ever have to think about which button to push (This separates a good game from a great game).
But I am jumping ahead of myself, this game has a strong story line compared to a lot others out there. Bowser?s son disguises himself as ?Water Mario? and paints graffiti all over the island your supposed to be vacationing on with his magic paintbrush. Sine he is disguised, the islander?s think that you are the culprit and you are then ordered by the court to clean up all the graffiti. During this campaign you meet some formidable foes who are easy on today?s standards (It?s a kid friendly game! It can?t be too hard).
All through playing this game, I did not have a single complaint. While it doesn?t have the Zelda lure of ?beat me already!? but it does have the lure of ?I wonder what the ending video would be like.? But along with a different lure from Zelda, it also has a better ending then Zelda (Which isn?t exactly hard to accomplish). ?What is the ending?? you?re probably thinking, well, I?m not going to tell you. If you want to know the ending you?re going to have to play the game yourself.
On a note for the actual game play: Nintendo did a thorough job, they included characters who would hate Mario just because he was convicted, characters who aren?t to sure about Mario, and characters who down right love Mario for cleaning up the island after his Water counter part. The islanders have they?re own language voice character wise, but Peach, Bowser, and Bowser?s Son all have some decent voices to them.
All in all this is a solid, worth the week of game-play game. There?s not one thing to complain about, if you find something to complain about, then your probably looking to hard or are just more into the violence games. But Mario isn?t that type of game and you should?ve known that once you started playing, so no complaining from you! So, if you like Mario already, you?ll love this one in my opinion. Happy Gaming!
