To start off, I have to say, this game is awesome! Alright, now that that's out of the way? Yes this game is the best racing game I have ever played or laid eyes on. The graphics are just splendid and a feast for the eye. The overall game play and playing options are great, the music in the game is active and you will enjoy it.
Now, considering the actual game, there is only one thing I did not like about this game. When the characters were talking, their mouths were moving a whole lot slower then the pace the voices were talking. Other then that, there are no complaints in this game. But I came into this game having been told it's the hardest one for GameCube, was it true? I don't necessarily believe it is the hardest, but it is one of the hardest I played.
Since all good games can't be played without a story mode of some sort, this game has one, of course. It is only nine levels long, but there are no complaints about the shortness, because considering the graphic detail, the misc. objects that the developers paid attention to, how can I complain? Everything in story mode is smooth and there no edgy graphics, just desirably, something you with EVERY game had in detail.
But this game differs the GameCube from the rest of the pack, why? Because it pulls off top rated graphics without slowing down, it doesn't take a minute to load (It took 5 seconds at most for me), something I wish ALL consoles had. But I feel I have to say this again, this is a great game, period. No ifs ands or buts. It's a great game.
There is one feature I did not get to try out in this game though, it is the multiplayer, if you want to hear about this feature, go to someone else's review. But the ability to build and customize your own vehicle just makes the game all the sweeter. Also, remember the cup races in Mario Kart? Well they are in this game, different skill levels and different track groups. Its is great, every time you beat a cup you receive money that you can use to spend on unlocking game features or upgrading you vehicle.
Now I bet your wondering, Why is he cutting off this review so short? He usually goes twice the length.? This is because there's not much more I can write about this game. But it's a racing game, what else is there to be said? Yes it has great graphics, yes it has great controls, yes I am completely happy with this, and yes, there will be no regrets about me dedicating my time to beating this game.
