Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg

Billy Hatcher And The Giant Egg

This is by all means a game geared towards kids. Well not as much as a Sesame Street game would be, but its close. While playing this game it just reminded me of Super Mario games, but the difference between these two games is that one has a lot of glitches and the other doesn't. Now if it weren't for the glitches in this game, it would have been a lot less frustrating. I found myself sometimes stuck on a single part of a level just because of a glitch in the game, because if I didn't do some just right, the egg you have to push would sometimes go through a part of the actual level.

I'll start from the beginning' Upon starting the game, it seemed like a very promising game, nice clear graphics, a cuteness only the gamers who strive on violence could deny. Then came the actual game play, its been a long time since I've played a game that doesn't go over the buttons for the game play. But luckily, this game only requires half the buttons on the actual controller so I wasn't too lost.

The game focuses around Billy (Surprise!) he had shown some bravery by defending a helpless little chicken against two crows. The chicken god (This game is a little weird?) then transports you to the chicken world, where all the chickens talk and you have to find the chicken suit so you can push around eggs. After upon completion of this task the game at least informs you on how to hatch the eggs once you make them grow to a certain point.

What the game lacks in not being debugged is made up for in the environments of the game (Yes sometimes the environments are buggy). These environments are so kid friendly and so neat t look at, you would wish you had a camera feature so you could look around and enjoy the environments. What I meant by that last sentence was that you can control the angle your looking at, but you can never get a first person view so you can actually just look around like you get to do in other games, like Zelda as an example.

But putting all that aside, it is actually a good game, not a great game, but a good one, one that you would want to play in your younger years or help your children out with when your older. The music in the background is cheerful and nice; Billy says a few key things (The characters don't talk, you have to read). All-in-all the game is worth playing if you like the kid to younger teenage years games, otherwise stick clear of this title and stick with Mario.
