Game Description

Gran Turismo 4 continues where Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec left off. Featuring authentic racing gameplay but now offering - more cars, more courses, more race modes. Developed by Polyphony Digital Inc. Gran Turismo 4 uses an all-new physics engine coupled with revolutionary technology to deliver enhanced, if not perfected, game physics and graphics providing a near-realistic automotive racing simulation.
The characteristics of the cars are realistically designed and calculated so that they handle to the real-life physics of that particular vehicle, taking into account weight, speed, friction, wind, and more. To further enhance the realism of the driving experience, new technology blends real-time action with a photo-fixed background to immerse the player in real-life environments such as New York City, the Grand Canyon and others. Highly detailed vehicles and environment mapping create broadcast-quality graphics, from light and competitor car reflections on the player's automobile to leaves on a tree shaking in the wind.

Players will have the opportunity to race in an enhanced arcade and simulation mode based upon similar game mechanics from Gran Turismo 3 A-spec. Players will have access to experience more than 500 authentic automobiles encompassing manufacturers from around the world, with a range from vintage to modern vehicles. Courses include existing closed racing circuits to specially designed city courses, reaching a total of up to 100 tracks.

The arcade mode allows players to compete against each other or the AI controlled drivers on select courses. While the simulation mode allows players to start from the bottom and earn their way up the ladder as they acquire driving licenses, race to earn money, unlock cars and courses, buy and sell cars, upgrade parts and compete in various championships. Playable from both first- and third-person perspectives, Gran Turismo 4 offers advanced opponent behavior to capture real-life racing and unpredictability of finishes.

The best racing simulator is back after 4 years in the making from creator Kazunori Yamauchi.

The new version is to include 700 cars and 52 tracks and 'real life' graphics, the game is sure to be the must having driving game of 2005.

The games creators have worked closely with the actual car manufactures themselves and tested against the real cars and real circuits themselves.

Famous cars the game will include: Nissan 350Z, Ford GT, Mercedes SLR McLaren, Alfa Romeo GT,Audi Nuvolari Quattro, Golf IV R32 from HPA Motorsports, Auto Union V16 Type C Streamline Race Car, Chaparral 2J Race Car, 1993 Le Mans-winning Peugeot 905, Aston Martin DB9 Coupe, Audi Le Mans Quattro.

The game now includes more real life tracks, Suzuka, Nurburgring Nordschleife, La Sarthe at Le Mans Seoul, Paris, Tokyo, New York, Seattle, Assisi, Capri and Monte Carlo, including drag strips, dirt and snow tracks, Swiss Alps, Chamonix and driving parks.

The 4 episode of Gran Turismo promises the best graphics ever, the creators use new technology to blend photographic backgrounds into the games environment with landscapes including: New York City, Paris, and the Grand Canyon.

The sound team for Gran Turismo 4 visited various museums and test tracks to record the actual sounds for the cars featured in the game.

The new game also features and whole new aspect to it, called GT4 B Spec mode, where the player takes on the role of the manager, incharge of the race stratergy, pit stop stratergy, car tuning etc. Sit back and watch others race!!
