Game Description
Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi is the fourth game in the popular anime fighting series. Whilst Budokai 3 was well liked by dragonball fans, Atari developers have bought out Tenkaichi (translated as "best in the universe") which seems to be significantly better than all the previous games in the series.
Fans from the series will at first notice that in Tenkaichi the developers have included a lot more characters than previous games, up to 60 characters including some more recent additions like Janemba and old school characters like Chaiotzu.
Graphically, the game is still similar to Budokai 3 yet it looks a lot more realistic! The image renders are still faithful to the TV series yet it looks a lot better! The character sprites are sharper round the edges and are more defined in appearance. Also a very realistic addition is that the characters gain damage throughout the fight, i.e by the end of the fight he has loads of bruises and scuffs on his face and his saiyan uniform is tattered etc.
Also the levels are bigger. In the Canyon stage a player can throw the opponent into the cliffs and rocks and they will break and explode etc. Also power up can be found in the rocks so one can heal themselves as the fight progresses.
The story line has also apparently been expanded, supposedly 50% bigger than its predecessor. Overall Tenkaichi is looking to be a really good game, the best in the series so far and will please dragonball and non dragonball fans alike!
