The decisions that players make throughout the lifetime of their Sims now have an impact on their long-term success or failure. A choice made as a toddler has a direct effect on the teen and adult Sim they become.
Adding a time factor to the Sims franchise is an inspired idea. Every decision you take for your Sim in early life will affect some outcome of their later development. As you only have a certain amount of existence in which to guide your character through the big moments in life - first steps, teenage romance, getting on the career ladder, marriage proposal, kids and family, even the arrival of grandkids, you'd better make the most of it (your "life score" will keep you up to date on how well you're progressing).
